About me

I'm a postmodern, strengths-based therapist, specializing in eating disorder treatment & the work of becoming who you are. After developing a passion for understanding the human mind as an undergraduate student, I found my path as therapist & have worked with others to discover their own.

Why I became a therapist
Through my studies and personal healing experiences I learned more about how the world we live in makes it hard to live in and nourish our bodies. This sparked a passion for eating disorder treatment and recovery that has been a throughline in my academic and professional career.
As a therapist I am privileged to bear witness to the stories of others and feel deep gratitude whenever I can participate in someone's process of becoming more empowered within themselves.
If you say 'I don't know what this means' or 'I want to change but I'm not sure how' I'm here to say 'let's figure it out together' and walk down that road with you.
My philosophy
I believe every client has the potential to use their own strengths to heal and change. My role as a therapist is to be a collaborator in identifying old narratives and ways of being that block the recognition and use of those strengths, and empower each client to feel more secure in themselves and in their ability to navigate the world. Sometimes we become blocked from recognizing those strengths and become stuck in self-criticism, unhelpful shame-based stories, and patterns that no longer serve us. We may struggle to access our own capacity to cope and navigate our emotions.
Using a postmodern & strengths-based lens, I work with clients to construct a more compassionate self-relationship and develop tools to create the life you want to live. As a clinician with over 4 years of experience in eating disorder treatment I have developed a passion for helping clients heal their relationships with food and their bodies, as well as feel more adept at navigating life's challenges using strengths-based approaches and skills. Whether you are struggling with disordered eating or are trying to heal from various emotional wounds, I can offer a warm space in which to grow.
Postmodern therapy
As a postmodern therapist I hold the belief that every client is the expert of their own story. Sometimes we need space to deconstruct these stories we hold, challenge narratives that keep us stuck, and identify where we want change. If you say "I don't know what this means" or "I want to change but I'm not sure how" I'm here to say "let's figure it out together" and walk down that road with you. I take a collaborative approach with my clients and encourage them to recognize their own strengths, while also exploring more effective ways to cope and offering tools as needed. I also believe that good therapy should honor and recognize the social contexts and systems we live in and how they impact our mental health, including experiences of oppression and marginalization.
