My approach to therapy

A warm space to grow. Postmodern, strengths-based, collaborative. What a session looks like, who I work with, and the modalities I draw from.

Sunlit mist over coastal grass — a moment of pause

What does a typical session look like?

My philosophy is to first let you lead the session where you need it to go, but I'll offer direction and suggestions of focus as needed. We'll spend time exploring current understandings of the problems in your life, experiences that shaped these understandings, and look for opportunities to highlight strength and resilience in your story.

Together I hope to construct a new narrative that honors your worth as a human and increases your sense of empowerment and competence.

Eating disorders & body image

Treatment for: Anorexia · Bulimia · ARFID · Binge Eating Disorder · OSFED

When working with a client to heal their disordered eating and body image I take an approach rooted in Health at Every Size (HAES) principles. I strongly support body liberation movements and believe everyone has a right to a more peaceful relationship with themselves and food. I honor the fact that we live in systems that can make this more complicated, especially for folks whose bodies have been marginalized/oppressed. I firmly believe everyone deserves recovery and self-empowerment. I am also very familiar with the world of eating disorder treatment and will work with my clients to access appropriate levels of care if more support is needed.
